A New Idea for This Blog Space
I've been writing articles in this blog space for two years now. I've been focused on taking charge of our own health. I've tried to pick topics that would be interesting and educational to a good many people.
Choosing these subjects is not easy. As a breast cancer survivor, I am far from being a scientific superwhizz who is totally on top of every latest big thing in breast cancer science, I often have to do a fair bit of research before I manage to tuck a topic into my brain.
Tucking it in is good for me myself, but writing about it is a waste of time if I don't manage to grab your attention.
And judging from the few comments posted in response, well, truth be known, I feel I have missed the target.
This month I have considered and tossed out several possible topics. So I'm taking a different tack entirely. How about you SHARE website visitors suggesting topics? I can choose some and write about them in future months.
The ground rules are easy enough. Topics should
- directly relate to understanding the disease or
- directly relate to coping with the environment in which that takes place --that is, doctors' offices, hospitals, clinics, and home.
- be focused on facts and evidence.
- not deal with medical specifics, such as preferred treatments, doctors, or hospitals.
People could suggest topics by writing a little bit about them themselves, and then I would be delighted to engage in a dialogue or perhaps a multi-person discussion. Or readers could simply pose questions they think are interesting for discussion.
What I really want to do is use this space for interaction with SHARE participants and others. Wanna give it a try?
