Thoughts from a first timer...

From a one-day regional conference the symposium has grown to a five-day program attended by a broad international audience of academic and private researchers and physicians from over 90 countries. This October, SHARE recognizes both Breast Cancer Awareness Month and 35 years of supporting women affected by breast cancer. The FDA's determination that Avastin not be approved for women with metastatic disease comes after ODAC (Oncology Drug Advisory Committee) heard testimony in October that included SHARELeaders. The FDA also reviewed additional material submitted by Genentech, the pharmaceutical company that makes Avastin. See today's article in NY Times.
