SHARELeaders Testify before the FDA on Avastin
Yesterday, Helen Schiff testified on behalf of SHARELeaders at the FDA hearings to decide whether Avastin should be approved as a first-line treatment for metastatic breast cancer.
SHARELeaders supported the FDA's decision to revoke approval for use of Avastin to treat metastatic breast cancer. SHARELeaders is a group of graduates of NBCC's Project LEAD, an intensive science program for advocates, who meet monthly at SHARE. SHARE is an organization has not taken a position on this issue. This hearing did NOT address Avastin's use for treatment of other types of cancer.
See media coverage of the hearings, including quotes and a clip from Helen Schiff's testimony. We'll be posting the testimony within the next few days.
