New York State legislators are continually making decisions that impact those affected by breast or ovarian cancer. Join SHARE and the New York State Breast Cancer Network (NYSBCN) in Albany for a day of education and lobbying your representatives on cancer-related issues.

The conference's theme is "Access to Care:Taking Charge." In the morning, noted attorney and health care advocate Mark Scherzer will present on "What's Next in Health Care Reform for New Yorkers." In the afternoon, we will meet with members of the New York State Assembly and Senate to seek their support for NYSBCN's legislative priorities.

Orientation and Training for Albany Advocacy Day

This orientation and training session will prepare you to address your legislators in an effective and well-informed manner and to increase support for breast cancer legislation.

NBCCN Annual Advocacy Conference

May 22-25, 2010

Education and Empowerment are the rewards for attending this conference!

  • Learn what's the latest in breast cancer treatment and research.
  • Learn how to influence elected officials for improved research and treatment.
  • Take part in Lobby Day on Capitol Hill, visiting the offices of Congresspersons and Senators to make NBCC's public policy clear and to persuade these elected officials to Do the Right Thing.

SHARE will help arrange attendance, lodging and transportation for SHARE participants. 

A limited number of Scholarships will be available.
