September: Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month
NY State Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo's office presented Cheryl Kurosky on behalf of SHARE, along with the American Cancer Society, a copy of the NYS resolution declaring September Ovarian Cancer Awareness month.
Four television stations showed up to the event. Here is a "behind the scenes" shot, but check out video here from YNN in Binghamton.
Attendees at the event were (l to r): Shelly Delany (OC Survivor/SHARE Volunteer), Cheryl Kurosky, Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo, Diana Cahill from the American Cancer Society and Susan Moranda from the American Cancer Society.
The Assemblywoman was extremely gracious and said she would like to see this as an annual event. Her mother has peritoneal cancer, so ovarian cancer is an important topic to her personally.
