Chemically free, hypo-allergenic cosmetics

Since recovering from ovarian cancer, I am not inclined to use cosmetics or lotions due to chemical content. Can you recommend cosmetic products such as eyeliners, lipsticks, lip pencils and lotions that are chemically free, hypo allergenic and use naturally based ingredients? -- anonymous

The key to look for when shopping for chemical free makeup is MINERAL based cosmetics. They are paraben free and hypo allergenic. Many foundations and skin care products have entered the market that have made these claims but the one that I would recommend would be Bare Escentuals. They are widely distributed and a very soft price point. What I also love about this company is that they fully explain everything to their consumers and have built their web presence as a community and not as a "sales destination." They have blogs to express concern but also have fun products to bring a lightness and sexiness back that when recovering from medical ordeals can be uplifting. Although this company may add less chemicals to their makeup line, they do add Iron Oxides or "Titanium Dioxide" which is a questionable safe ingredient. Research had shown that these substances may be linked to being a carcinogen.

Can you please recommend any other makeup companies that use only natural ingredients.
