Drawing in eyebrows -- tricks of the trade

When I was on carbo/taxol I knew I was likely to lose my hair, but it didn't hit me that that meant ALL of my hair until I looked in the mirror and saw that I had lost my eyebrows and eyelashes.  What are the tricks of the trade for "drawing in" eyebrows without having them LOOK like they have been drawn in?

One, it is not just your eyebrows, it is also the lashes... brows and lashes make a face look youthful and now every spa/salon is offering extensions and semi permanent lashes. I strongly suggest googling the best spa in your neighborhood/area to find a place to do that. Eyelashes have gotten a bad name but if you ask for a "natural strip" with some individuals thrown in you could look more fabulous than before... it's all in the technique...

Now for your brows... there is a website called www.eyebrowz.com where you can buy stencils. They market more of a celebrity eyebrow. PLEASE pick for the shape of your face... we may all love Gwyneth Paltrow but it does not mean that her eyebrows work for us....

When applying, I always suggest both a pencil and a powder closest to your hair color. If you have come back in grey please pick a color that works for you, not your original. Black eyebrows will NOT work if you have gone all white. I also suggest going to a makeup artist (it can be your favorite dept store counter person) and have them experiment on you until you are happy. It is always better to have them play -- then you can duplicate!!

This comment is for Anonymous regarding the eyebrows & eyes. Besides Derek's tips, I would like to add that a powder is the best to form your eyebrows. Just follow your bone line structure above your eyes & as you're doing that, use feathering strokes until you get the hang of it. For the eyes you can also use an eye penceil very close to the edge of your eyes (apply carefully).
Never left my house without my face (made up face, that is). From one that has been there.
