Learning about cancer on the web can be overwhelming. SHARE recommends you look at these sites for reliable information on many different types of cancer:

Cancer.Net
This is the patient information site of ASCO, the American Society of Clinical Oncologists. It formerly was known as PLWC, People Living With Cancer.
              
CancerInfoNet
This easy to understand site in English and Spanish was developed by the National Cancer Institute. It explains basic information about cancer, tells you how to research cancer on the internet, and covers some specific cancers like breast, lung, and prostate.
       
OncoLink
Sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania, this is an excellent source of reliable information.

Women's Cancer Network
The website of the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation, this site has information about different types of reproductive cancers.

American Institute for Cancer Research
Information on cancer prevention and nutrition.

Some good sites for information about services to cancer patients include:

American Cancer Society
ACS provides information on many aspects of cancer treatment, in several different languages. ACS also provides services to cancer patients. In some cities they provide housing for cancer patients, while in others they help with transportation and other services. 

Cancer Care
They provide Individual, family, and group counseling by professionals, and information and referral to homemaking and other services. Cancer Care also provides some financial assistance for co-pays, home care and transportation, and can provide wigs and breast prostheses.

Gilda's Club
Gilda's Clubs in many cities provide support services for patients with all types of cancers and their families.
       
MAMM Magazine
This magazine specializes in women's cancers, and is available online as well as in print.
