Ira Bleiweiss, MD, Professor of Pathology, Chief of Surgical Pathology and Director of the Division of Breast Pathology, the Mount Sinai Medical Center, will discuss the multi- faceted issues of detection and diagnosis of DCIS, what diagnosis of DCIS means, the controversy over the meaning of this diagnosis and it's appropriate treatment.
This is an educational and peer-support program for women who have been diagnosed with DCIS. There will be time to discuss the emotional issues generated by this diagnosis.
