Public Educational Campaigns

SHARE works to raise awareness about breast or ovarian cancer through several public education campaigns, targeted to the following communities:

Novela for Breast Cancer Awareness
SHARE's Novela for Breast Cancer Awareness, Se Valiente ... Son Tus Senos, a comic-book style publication, explains breast cancer issues in Spanish through characters and scenes recognizable to Latino communities.

Ovarian Cancer Awareness Initiative
Volunteers in SHARE's Ovarian Cancer Awareness Initiative educate the public about ovarian cancer symptoms by making presentations at hospitals and community-based organizations.

Pink & Teal Seminar Program
Survivors offer lunch-time workshops for employees at corporations through SHARE's Pink & Teal Seminar Program. They discuss breast and ovarian cancer issues and let people know about SHARE's services.

Side-by-Side (Patient/Doctor Communication)
SHARE's unique educational program, called Side-by-Side, works to empower patients and their doctors to communicate more effectively and compassionately with one another.
