Public Education

SHARE works to raise awareness about breast or ovarian cancer through several public education campaigns, targeted to the following communities:

Latino Communities (Breast Cancer)
SHARE's Novela for Breast Cancer Awareness, a comic-book style publication, explains breast cancer issues in Spanish through characters and scenes recognizable to Latino communities.

General Public (Ovarian Cancer)
Volunteers in SHARE's Ovarian Cancer Awareness Initiative educate the public about ovarian cancer symptoms by making presentations at hospitals and community-based organizations.

Corporations
Survivors offer lunch-time workshops for employees at corporations through SHARE's Pink & Teal Seminar Program. They discuss breast and ovarian cancer issues and let people know about SHARE's services.

Doctors & Patients
SHARE's unique educational program, called Side-by-Side, works to empower patients and their doctors to communicate more effectively and compassionately with one another.
