New York City's Design/Construction/Real Estate industries came out on June 20th for SHARE's Fifth Anniversary Pink & Teal Reception. We so appreciate their ongoing support of SHARE's Pink & Teal Seminars, which educate women and men in their corporate workplace about ovarian and breast cancer awareness, and empower them to be advocates for their own health and the health of their loved ones.
This year, our honorees were Pamela Abalu of MetLife, Inc., and Christina Kite of The Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Charles Schackner of UBS was named the Share Circle of Support Honoree.
After accepting her award, Pamela Abalu spoke of her feelings about SHARE, saying something that was so resonant we wanted to share it with you. She repeated a saying her father used to say.
"At the timberline where the storms strike with the most fury, the sturdiest trees are found."
SHARE is a community of very strong people -- men and women who've endured tremendous trials and have continued to stand firm and tall. Our community only gets stronger as we reach out to more people facing the hardest times of their lives, when the "storms strike with the most fury." At SHARE, our experience is our strength.
