SHARE Program Director Christine Benjamin was on Good Morning America on Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day (October 13)! She joined advocates from Metastatic Breast Cancer Network and others living with Stage IV disease to bring awareness to this disease.
Metastatic Breast Cancer Network's slogan is "Stage IV Needs More." More research needs to be done (and more research dollars are needed), more treatments are required, and more support needs to go to people with Stage IV breast cancer. Approximately 40,000 people in the U.S. die from this disease annually, and treatment for metastatic breast cancer is lifelong.
SHARE has services specifically for women with metastatic breast cancer, including support groups, educational programs and webinars, and a Helpline (844-ASK-SHARE). SHARE is a member of Metastatic Breast Cancer Alliance and the Count Us, Know Us, Join Us initiative.
