SHARE’s Pink and Teal Young Professionals Group recently gathered together to host a special fundraiser for SHARE’s work for women with breast and ovarian cancers. Billed as a night of networking and music, the event was held August 24 at Esther and Carol, a chic bistro and lounge in Manhattan, and had over 100 people in attendance!
The evening began with an open bar meet and greet where guests were given the opportunity to mingle over free drinks. Featured speakers including Mary Vetting (pictured below), a breast cancer survivor and SHARE support group facilitator, and Marissa Bianco, LatinaSHARE Program Associate, whose mother is also a breast cancer survivor; they shared a bit about their personal experiences with cancer and caregiving, and why the work of SHARE is so critical.
After the program, the night was brought to a close with a rousing concert by the band Lead of Foxes. SHARE raised over $2,000 in funds!
“I’m very proud to be a part of this organization,” said Jordan Donahue, a Board member of Pink and Teal Young Professionals and host of the event. "I’m extremely lucky to work with the capable and talented [group] we’ve put together.”
The Young Professionals group will host more events like this in the future to support SHARE and spread awareness of the Pink and Teal Program, which brings healthy survivors into the corporate workplace to present empowering and inspiring information on breast and ovarian cancers.
