The Conference Workstream: Advancing Equity through Patient Navigation

At our first conference, SHARE challenged participants to identify one big idea to end health disparities. The majority of participants chose patient navigation, which became the focus of the conference workstreams in 2022 and 2023. The workstreams promised action on eradicating intractable disparities, and brought together a diverse group of approximately 30 conference-goers including patients, advocates, medical and corporate professionals. Their dedicated work has continued for the past two years, and this year, on day one of the conference, they will share their outcomes with attendees. Register here to join the patient navigation symposium on June 21, and become part of this important work.

In 2023, the workstream was led by patient navigation expert Tricia Strusowski to develop the founding principles of a model program that can be replicated in communities nationwide. These principles will be explored at the patient navigation symposium in collaborative work sessions focused on the following topics:

  • The Role of Cultural Competency in Patient and Financial Navigation
  • Systemic Funding for Patient Navigation
  • Metrics to Measure Success in Patient Navigation
  • How New Technologies Can Accelerate Patient Navigation

The patient navigation symposium is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the bold action SHARE has promised through Getting Our Fair SHARE. We hope you will join us on June 21 and take steps to create a more equitable future through patient navigation. Register now!
