How to Minimize the Risk of Lymphedema
Women who've undergone a mastectomy with axillary node dissection can get lymphedema even years after the surgery. Ines Tejada, RN, Oncology Nurse, will discuss how the lymphatic system works. She will address the precautions women can take to minimize the likelihood of developing lymphedema and related cellulitis after mastectomy, including avoiding pressure and punctures on the affected arm.
