Taboo Discussions in the Black Breast Cancer Community

Are you uncomfortable or insecure wearing certain clothing because you think people are looking at your chest or scars? Are you questioning your surgery and reconstruction decision or struggling with getting your pain managed? Let’s talk about it. Since Black skin comes in a multitude of beautiful hues, that means scarring, bruising, burns, and stitches look different on the skin than white women. Body image issues can dramatically affect quality of life.

If you're a Black woman breast cancer survivor, join us on Thursday, November 21st at 7:30pm EST. The facilitators are Lisa P. Nelson, LMSW, OSW-C, and Megan-Claire Chase, invasive lobular (ILC) breast cancer survivor and SHARE's Breast Cancer Program Director. You'll get the opportunity to share your stories and experiences with fellow survivors and learn new ways to cope with the challenges of breast cancer.

This space is tailor-made for Black women breast cancer survivors who want to connect with others and gain insights from their journeys towards healing. Don't miss out on this chance to join a supportive community of survivors.
