Immunotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that uses the body’s immune system to fight cancer cells. Advances in immunotherapy over the last few years have been game-changing for the treatment of uterine cancer, particularly in advanced or recurrent disease. Dr. Emily Hinchcliff, gynecologic oncologist at Northwestern Medical Group, will discuss the various immunotherapy treatments available to patients and which molecular cancer types might benefit the most from these treatments. She’ll also review potential side effects that can occur with immunotherapy and how best to recognize and manage them.
