SABCS Highlight: COMET Study Results on Monitoring Low-Risk DCIS

Come join us as Dr. Shelley Hwang (Principal Investigator) and Deborah Collyar (Patient Advocate) discuss the initial results from the low-risk DCIS study called Comparing an Operation to Monitoring, with or without Endocrine Therapy (COMET), which was presented at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium in December 2024.

They will discuss:

  1. The reasons for the study
  2. The way it was designed
  3. Challenges during the study
  4. The first results that have been examined. Potential implications for decision-making for women with low-risk DCIS will also be discussed.

Note: Longer follow-up of this study is needed before current policy and practice will change.
