Rooted in culture, community, and care, the AfroSHARE Summit was more than a conference; it was a space of connection, healing, and truth-telling. This unique gathering brought together Black cancer patients and survivors, caregivers, advocates, clinicians, researchers, and pharmaceutical leaders in one room to share lived experiences, amplify voices, and drive collective action. Through open dialogue and interactive sessions, we explored the real barriers our community faces and worked together to push past them.
This day was about breaking the silence and honoring the strength of Black women and families navigating cancer. Attendees gained life-saving knowledge about early warning signs and symptoms, learned how to confidently advocate for themselves and others, and dove into crucial conversations about rebuilding trust in healthcare and advancing equity in meaningful, measurable ways.
