Muriel is a single Mom to a young adult man with special needs, so she had to figure out her own way to get through both her first and second diagnosis. She found SHARE by searching online for a support organization and she says, “At SHARE, I found people that had ‘been there, done that.’ People that were interested in what was going on with me. We ended up as a family.”
There is a lot she learned along the way including:
"I think you have to walk into your doctor’s appointments informed, with questions. Don’t take no for an answer. Work through everything. If someone tells you no, you make it a yes! Either you do it or nobody does it."
