Impact of Post-Diagnosis Weight Change

The relationship between obesity and breast cancer is a complex one. There seem to be only a few studies investigating the relationship between weight change after diagnosis and survival outcomes in breast cancer patients. There was even a session on this topic at last year’s San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS). Many patients in the survivorship stage find it increasingly difficult to shed weight due to surgical or chemo-induced menopause, especially those on aromatase inhibitors because their breast cancer was hormone driven.

Join us as our special guest Manmeet Malik, DO, an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine, Director of the Breast Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, and board-certified surgeon who specializes in treating breast disease, as she breaks down this complex issue and educates those in the survivorship stage who are struggling with obesity due to low estrogen.
