NSMP Uterine Cancer Support Group

Group Focus:
This group is for people whose uterine/endometrial cancer falls under the molecular subtype NSMP (No Specific Molecular Profile). This NSMP subtype represents a heterogenous group of molecular cancers that don’t fit into the other three molecular categories which include POLE Ultramutated, MSI-H, and Copy Number High P53 mutation. This new NSMP group will offer an opportunity to support and learn from others who are going through this particular cancer journey.

Meeting Format:
This group meets virtually on Zoom once a month.

Title: What does it mean to be in the NSMP category of Uterine Cancer?

Description: Stephanie Gaillard, MD PHD Director, Gynecologic Cancer Trials and Co-Director, Developmental Therapeutics/Phase I Clinical Trials Program, Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Gaillard will explain what the No Specific Molecular Profile (NSMP) category of endometrial/uterine cancer is and tell us about the research that is going on in the various subcategories of NSMP. The NSMP molecular category includes molecular mutations that don’t fit into the three other categories: POLE Ultramutated, MS-H, Copy number high/P53 mutated. Some of the common attributes of the NSMP category are: pMMR, MS-I Stable (aka MS-S), Copy number low, ER+ PR+, HER2-, PIK3ca, KRAS, PTEN, CTNNB1, L1CAM, or others.

Who Can Attend:
Please note that attendance is reserved for individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer.

Facilitators:
Trained peer advocates facilitate this group. While they are unable to give specific medical advice, they bring a wealth of personal experience and understanding to the group, fostering a supportive and empathetic environment.
