Aisha

When she was only 32 years old, Aisha was diagnosed with stage 2b cervical cancer, which metastasized after her initial treatment, and her doctor told her to prepare to die. Her first thought was, “I can’t leave my kids. I’m all they have.” Fortunately, she had a remarkable response to her next round of treatment, and she has now been in remission for years.

Now Aisha serves as SHARE’s Cervical Cancer Program Coordinator, where she can use everything she learned along the way to help others. Now she explains:

“I often say that cancer was probably the best thing that happened to me, which is the weirdest thing in the world to say.”
