In 2018 Nefa-Tari Moore was introduced to SHARE and attended the ovarian cancer support group. She walked away from that meeting feeling full of hope. A few months later, she trained and joined SHARE as an AfroSHARE Ambassador to do outreach in her community, and she has supplied profoundly meaningful support to others who have been diagnosed through her work on SHARE’s Helpline and Support Groups. Nefa-Tari then helped launch SHARE’s uterine program as the Uterine Cancer Coordinator, and she now serves as Director of Black Women’s outreach, leading AfroSHARE.
“My background in healthcare and community activism allows me to utilize my skills to support women battling cancer,” Nefa-Tari explains. “I am a three time cancer survivor, so I am extremely passionate about my work with this disease; it's very important to me."
