Winnie joined SHARE in October, 2022 as the first Chinese SHARE Program Director. We are thrilled to welcome her to the SHARE family, and excited that she will bring SHARE’s programs to Chinese-speaking women and families in New York City, and across the country.

I wanted to reiterate the mantra that has kept my journey bearable for nearly one year: Armor on. Prayers up. Let's go! Those words have special significance, as they connect my faith, my feisty personality, and my dogged determination to survive this odyssey.

“It’s Breast Cancer”. These are words no one wants to hear, let alone at 29 years old.

October 2020 is when it all started, ironically being Breast Cancer Awareness month. I felt a lump. It was in my right breast, a hard and very obvious lump.

Lashana Thomas joined the SHARE team as a staff member in August 2022, but had already become acquainted with SHARE as a consultant on the 2022 “Getting Our Fair SHARE” conference. We are thrilled that she has joined us in the newly created position of Director of Conferences and Special Events, and look forward to working with her on the 2023 conference and the workstream, as well as next September’s gala.

Happy Women’s History Month - and International Women’s Day - from all of us at SHARE! At SHARE, we focus on the needs of women every month, but this March we are delighted to spotlight the history and impact of one of our core programs - LatinaSHARE. Launched nearly three decades ago by Alex Colon, LatinaSHARE has become a vibrant community of thousands of Spanish-speaking women dedicated to providing support, awareness, and hope.

This February, in honor of Black History Month, SHARE is excited to highlight our rich program of initiatives by and for Black women. As Christine Benjamin, SHARE’s VP of Patient Services observes, "For too long, disparities in health care and outcomes for people of color have existed.

This month, we are excited to profile longtime SHARE Ambassador Coordinator, Agnes Rita Fortune. Rita first came to SHARE more than 12 years ago after participating in a breast cancer fundraising walk where she met a SHARE support group facilitator.

This Cervical Cancer Awareness Month we’re talking about HPV. Robin, Rheanna, Maggie, and Shanon share their experiences getting vaccinated.

Religiously I go for my annual mammography's and sonograms. I had my annual on November 26th, 2021. I was on top of the world when I started a new hybrid job on December 13th, 2021.

Then I get a call from my doctor telling me that I have to go in for further imaging because they saw something suspicious.

It’s Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, and this January, SHARE is celebrating the one-year anniversary of our cervical cancer program! In just one year, SHARE has launched a support group, helpline, education programs, and a comprehensive outreach program.
